After month of arranging the external spinal cord injury study day in RNOH, and facing a bit of hiccups (fee payment and shift changing issues etc.....), at last all members from SIC group attended this study day (Marissa is a new member, welcome to SIC group). Many thank to Archie as he drove us from the station to the hospital x 2 ways, he arrived at 7.05am (too early !!) and phoned me, at the time I was still on my way to the station. I remembered I said 7.30am..................................in the station.
This study day was conducted by spinal expert, Pauline, tell you what she is an excellent tutor and have vast experiences in the spinal field, we really enjoyed her teaching and we have learned a lot from her (at least I was, hopefully the rest also the same.....................). I was glad the study day was running quite smoothly, apart from the venue was a bit far for some group members who live in the south London, all the members made their best effort to travel to north London.
Tino is a neuro physio who also joined us for this study day. Hope he would not mind our mad behaviour, posted for the photos, photos.....taken all the time throughout the whole study day. Well !!! the Group leader is mad in photos taking........................ they got no choice...........
Guillie enjoyed his breakfast before the study day start. In our ICU's culture, we always prepare food for all the study day, either internal or external, I like this culture, because I love food................
As arranged by Pauline, we visited the Spinal Injury Unit and Gym for the disability patient. Catherine was sitting on the special pressure relief cushion. I managed to visit some of my ex-colleagues and unit where I worked before. We like practise section, log rolling with head hold, 4 man turn, 5 man turn.....................................
Tino was lying in lateral position with neck roll insitu, he seem quite comfortable, please don't snore and Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................... and careful, don't fall on the floor...........
Marissa was paid full attention to learn how to position the cervical pillow with the help from Jason. Well, look at Guillie, what was he doing there ? Laughing at Marissa, was there something quite funny ??????????????????
Before end of the study day, we were separated in two group for quiz games. Pauline asked the questions which were related to the topic we have learned. To be surprise, most of us were able to contribute some answers. Err.................that means none of us fall asleep in the class. Well done, pals...............................
